He knows how to score, on and off the ice.

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she's going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over.

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

I utterly, completely fell in love with this book, and now I have the worst book hangover! It hits the mark in so many areas: banter, sexy hero, laugh out loud humor, sexy hero, emotional storyline, sexy hero. The Score is all that and a bag of chips. This is the third book in the Off-Campus series and it’s right up there with The Deal, which made my Top Ten of 2015 list.

Look in the Urban Dictionary under “manwhore”, and Dean’s picture should be there. He’s a happy, charismatic, carefree college senior who plays on the university’s elite hockey team. Everything comes easy to Dean—women, hockey, grades, money—and he’s used to getting whatever he wants whenever he wants it. It should make him an arrogant jerk. Instead, he’s unexpectedly endearing, but still sexy as hell.

Dean Di Laurentis oozes sexuality. He could slap his face on a laxative label and every woman in the world would be praying for constipation just to have an excuse to buy it.

Allie comes along, rocks his world one night, and then denies him seconds. She has just broken up with her boyfriend of three years and isn’t about to get sucked into Dean’s sexual vortex, despite her attraction to him. It’s the first time the player has had to work for anything, and boy does Allie make him work to get her.

I loved the slow and steady progression of their romance. Dean’s efforts to get Allie to sleep with him again are hilarious—and creative. Great banter is my kryptonite, and this book has it in spades. The interactions with their crazy friends only add to the humor.

“Wait—do angels even get laid? And if so, are heaven orgasms a million times better than earth orgasms? I bet yes.”

“Uh-doy. Where do you think rainbows come from? Whenever you see a rainbow, that means an angel just came.”

What really won me over though was the transformation of Dean’s character. I could fangirl all day over that guy. Dean is a naughty boy, and Allie is no retiring virgin either. This story has a lot of dirty talk and hot sexy times for your average romantic comedy, let alone for a New Adult book. The sex is secondary to the story though, and accentuates the chemistry between Dean and Allie.

Elle Kennedy is a master at blending steam, comedy, and truly touching moments. Superb writing, an engaging plot, and a cast of entertaining characters easily make The Score a 5+ star read.
