Parker Cruse despises cheaters. It might have something to do with her boyfriend sleeping with her twin sister.

After a wedding day prank involving a strong laxative, that ends the already severed relationship between the twins, Parker decides to grow up and act twenty-six.

Step One: Move out of her parents’ house.

Step Two: Find a job.

Opportunity strikes when she meets her new neighbor, Gus Westman. He’s an electrician with Iowa farm-boy values and a gift for saying her name like it’s a dirty word.

He also has a wife.

Sabrina Westman, head of a successful engineering firm, hires Parker as her personal assistant. Driven to be the best assistant ever, Parker vows to stay focused, walk the dog, go to the dry cleaners, and not kiss Gus—again.

Step Three: Don’t judge.

Step Four: Remember— when life happens, it does it in a heartbeat.

When Life Happened is one of Jewel E. Ann’s strongest novels to date, and that’s really saying something. I’ve been a huge fan of her masterful storytelling, so it should not come as a surprise that this addictive book left me conflicted and entirely enthralled.

About Jewel E. Ann

Jewel E. Ann

Jewel is a free-spirited romance junkie with a quirky sense of humor.

With 10 years of flossing lectures under belt, she took early retirement from her dental hygiene career to stay home with her three awesome boys and manage the family business.

After her best friend of nearly 30 years suggested a few books from the contemporary Romance genre, Jewel was hooked. Devouring two and three books a week but still craving more, she decided to practice sustainable reading, AKA writing.

When she’s not donning her cape and saving the planet one tree a a time, she enjoys yoga with friends, good food with family, rock climbing with her kids, watching How I Met Your Mother reruns, and of course . . .heart-wrenching, tear-jerking, panty-scorching novels.

Review ♥ One by Jewel E. Ann

Review ♥ One by Jewel E. Ann

In my mind, humor and angst go hand in hand with Jewel E. Ann’s books. One is a bit of a departure for her. It’s a sports romance that has all the wit, but none of the gut wrenching, anxiety producing conflicts I’ve come to expect. This book proves that Jewel can write lighthearted romantic comedy very well while maintaining an extremely touching quality.

Review ♥ Dawn of Forever by Jewel E. Ann

“I want to be your everything, but only while I’m here. If the day comes that I’m not, then let me go. Let me be your greatest memory.” I’ve been singing the praises of the Jack & Jill series ever since I took a chance on End of Day, the amazingly unique first book in the trilogy. It’s incredibly hard to maintain that level of excellence throughout a series though, and—I’ll admit it—I’m a difficult reader to please. I braced myself for disappointment with Dawn of Forever. I threw down the gauntlet, daring Jewel E. Ann to impress me again, and wouldn’t you know she picked it up and ran with it? Jewel E. Ann has pulled off the virtually impossible by creating not one, not two, but three full-length novels of exceptional quality.

Middle of Knight by Jewel E. Ann

“Love is reckless because true emotions are immune to logic. The most beautiful love stories are often the most tragic.” Jewel E. Ann has officially become an auto-buy author for me. The first book in her Jack & Jill series, End of Day, completely blew me away and was a rare 5 star read for me. Middle of Knight proves just how addictive this trilogy is.

End of Day by Jewel E. Ann

End of Day by Jewel E. Ann

Reading is one of my favorite pastimes, but when you’re an avid reader who reads well over 100 novels per year, many books tend to blend together. Authors that bring something fresh to the table stand a better chance of producing work that stands out. Jewel E. Ann brought her A-game with End of Day, and I can honestly say I’ve never read anything like it. She has woven together a gripping, intriguing, and clever novel that I could not put down. What a fantastic start to the Jack & Jill series.
