From USA Today bestselling author Rochelle B. Weinstein comes a moving novel of hearts lost and found, and of one woman torn between two love stories.

When Charlotte and Philip meet, the pair form a deep and instant connection. Soon they’re settled in the Florida Keys with plans to marry. But just as they should be getting closer, Charlotte feels Philip slipping away.

Second-guessing their love is something Charlotte never imagined, but with Philip’s excessive absences, she finds herself yearning for more. When she meets Ben, she ignores the pull, but the supportive single dad is there for her in ways she never knew she desired. Soon Charlotte finds herself torn between the love she thought she wanted and the one she knows she needs.

As a hurricane passes through Islamorada, stunning revelations challenge Charlotte’s loyalties and upend her life. Forced to reexamine the choices she’s made, and has yet to make, Charlotte embarks on an emotional journey of friendship, love, and sacrifice—knowing that forgiveness is a gift, and the best-laid plans can change in a heartbeat.

This Is Not How It Ends is a tender, moving story of heartbreak and healing that asks the question: Which takes more courage—holding on or letting go?

I typically don’t care for love triangles and the drama that comes with them. Crushed souls and occasional instances of cheating aren’t my idea of fun. However, This Is Not How It Ends was a Kindle Unlimited Read and Listen for Free title, and I had a few hours of listening time at my disposal while I worked on a home project, so I figured what the heck. Long story short, even though it went against my instincts, I decided to give the audiobook a try. The verdict: not half bad. Read More

I have a feeling I would have enjoyed this book more a few years ago, but my tastes seem to be changing and I’m generally pickier these day. Beat is a love triangle so by its very nature Lucky is torn between two men. However, there’s torn and then there’s deciding but being too much of coward to actually follow through.

Review ♥ Long Live the Beautiful Hearts by Emma Scott

It sucks when an author whose work you admire writes a book that falls short of your expectations. I was pretty disappointed in Bring Down the Stars, the first book in the Beautiful Hearts series, especially since all my friends loved it. However, I think it makes the triumph of Long Live The Beautiful Hearts all the sweeter. It contains everything I felt the previous book lacked.

I was hesitant to read Bring Down the Stars because I knew it was a modern day re-telling of Cyrano de Bergerac. Nothing good can come from a relationship built on a foundation of lies. And yet I willingly waded into what I was confident would be turbulent waters, praying that the characters would be worth the risk to my heart. Weston and the beautiful poetry are shining stars in this story and the main reason for nudging the book toward 4-star territory.

Put a fork in me. I’m done. American King officially slayed me! It is the heart-pounding, breathtaking conclusion to the New Camelot Trilogy. It delivered the fatal blow after pummeling my emotions, but American King just might be my favorite book of the three. As a side note, the trilogy is extremely intricate, with multiple players and cliffhangers galore. For maximum enjoyment, I suggest readers clear their schedules and devote a good chunk of time to reading the three books back to back.

Just when I thought my tender heart couldn’t handle another love triangle, I took a chance on Drive. Truthfully, if it had been written by anyone other than one of my favorite storytellers, Kate Stewart, I probably would have passed. Drive dragged me through a range of emotions—sometimes kicking and screaming—but man, what a great journey.

Blog Tour & Review ♥ Two is a Lie by Pam Godwin

Two is a Lie is the second book in the Tangled Lies trilogy, and Pam Godwin mic drops the hell out this turbulent story. I thought the love triangle was fairly easy to handle in the first book, but apparently that was just foreplay. Two is a Lie is like Kryptonite to angst junkies, and only three things got me through this book: ranting on social media, lots of red wine, and a bottle of Tums. True story.
