That’s a Wrap! October 2017

That's a Wrap October

What a great month October was! I attended the Big Apple Author Event in New York City. It was the largest signing I’ve been to, and I can’t believe I got to meet so many of my favorite authors. I even met my dream author: the one and only Penny Reid. She’s super sweet! I won’t tell you all of the authors at the signing because I don’t want you to start drinking the Haterade, but I will say I met some authors who rarely tour anywhere close to me. Sarina Bowen, Jodi Ellen Malpas, K. Bromberg, Sara Ney, L.H. Cosway, Brittainy Cherry, and Renee Carlino were just a few in attendance. Would I leave my followers totally hanging? No! I picked up some signed books for you guys. I’m waiting for the right time to give them away.

I also participated in a really fun Halloween blog hop giveaway with some great blogs. I love giving away paperbacks, and it’s nice to be able to offer them to international followers.

I may not have read as many books as I’d like, but I did read some really fantastic ones. My absolute favorite was Still by Kennedy Ryan, followed very closely by Drive by Kate Stewart. Take a look at the recap of October reviews, and read on for a 2017 Reading Goals check-in.

Reading Goals: October Update
  • DNF without guilt.
I love Kim Holden. I really do. However, All of It just wasn’t for me. If you’d like to know my thoughts on specific DNF books, check out my Goodreads shelf.
  • Have more variety.
Young adult books generally aren’t my thing. I think I’m just too old to appreciate them. In keeping with my reading goals, though, I took a chance on one. As stated above, All of It wasn’t a winner for me.
  • Give new authors a chance.
Perfectly Imperfect was the first book I’ve read by Harper Sloan.
  • Go on an ARC diet.
I swore I wouldn’t accept any ARCs in October. I wound up reviewing five. In my defense, I will never say no to Kate Stewart, Lauren Blakely, or Kennedy Ryan.
  • Meet or exceed my Goodreads Reading Challenge.
Guess who met their Goodreads Challenge? This gal! My goal was 100. As of today, I’ve read 110 books.
