Release Blitz, Review & Signed Paperback Giveaway ♥ The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Release Blitz, Review & Signed Paperback Giveaway ♥ The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas

When I found out Jodi Ellen Malpas was writing a standalone I was crazy excited. Factor in the premise of a bodyguard falling for his client, and The Protector was an easy sell for me. Perhaps my expectations were a bit too high, but this wound up being a middle of the road read for me. It wasn’t my favorite, but I didn’t hate it.

Blog Tour & Review ♥ Sugar Rush by Sawyer Bennett

Do you enjoy a healthy about of suspense with your romance? If so, I think you’ll love Sugar Rush, the second book in Sawyer Bennett’s Sugar Bowl series. It’s like book crack for an angst addict with an insane amount of tension and devious scheming that keeps you on the edge of your seat. This book is not a standalone. The beginning of Sugar Rush overlaps with the final seconds of Sugar Daddy’s ending.

Audiobook Review ♥ Beneath This Mask by Meghan March

Audiobook Review ♥ Beneath This Mask by Meghan March

Audiobook review. I’m not a huge fan of audiobooks. Narrators’ voices can grate on my nerves, my mind wanders so I have to constantly rewind, and the pacing frustrates me. I can read a book in half the time it takes to listen to one, and if I increase the speed the voices sound even more annoying. Color me surprised then that I enjoyed the Beneath This Mask audiobook so much. The story held my interest and the voice actors are phenomenal.

Review: Sempre by J.M. Darhower

Review: Sempre by J.M. Darhower

There are some 500-page books that I can fly through reading and they don’t seem very long at all. Sempre isn’t one of them. It felt very much like it is 528 pages long. It’s not that I didn’t enjoy the story, because I did. The mafia, human trafficking, sacrifice, vengeance, and forbidden young love are themes that kept me interested. However, the plot unfolds extremely slowly and is bogged down with more repetitive details than necessary. At times it seems like the reader is experiencing life in the DeMarco household not just day to day, but hour by hour. The story could be told in much less time and still be impactful.

Blog Tour, Review & Giveaway: Always Room for Cupcakes by Bethany Lopez

I really enjoyed the premise of this fun little story. Lila is proof that you can’t keep a good woman down. Her life changes in an instant when she catches her husband cheating in an unexpectedly humorous way. Suddenly, she goes from being a sensible stay at home mom of twins to being a feisty investigative photographer devoted to catching unfaithful partners in flagrante delicto.

Review: He Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker

Review: He Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker

The book blurb should have the following warning: “You’d better hold on tight because you’re about to embark on one hell of a suspenseful rollercoaster.” Instead, the blurb says this book is, “sexy,” and, “hot.” I think that’s misleading. This isn’t a racy romance novel with a little whodunit thrown in. Yes, there are some romantic aspects that help propel the plot, but He Will Be My Ruin is first and foremost an edgy, hardcore, emotional thriller that kept me guessing until the end.
