Twenty-seven-year-old Farrow Keene lives by his actions, and his actions say he’s the best at whatever he does. As a 24/7 bodyguard and the new boyfriend to Maximoff Hale, protecting the headstrong, alpha billionaire has never been more complicated. And one rule can’t be bent:

Keep your relationship secret from the public.

Farrow is confident he’s the best man for the job. But a twist in Maximoff’s fast-paced life sticks them with the rest of Security Force Omega and their clients.

On the road. In a sleeper tour bus. For four rocky months.

Sexual frustrations, check. Road trip drama, check. Awkward bonding, check.

But Farrow couldn’t have accounted for a high-risk threat (identity: unknown) that targets Maximoff before the ignition even turns. And it hits Farrow — someone has it out for the guy he loves.

Every day, Maximoff & Farrow's feelings grow stronger, and together, they'll either sink or swim.

The Like Us series is a true series, one continuous timeline, that follows a family of wealthy celebrities and the people that protect them. You must read Damaged Like Us, Book 1, before reading Lovers Like Us.

Lovers Like Us is the second book in the Like Us series. There are even more characters involved this time around, but I think I finally have a good handle on who’s who. There are more conflicts and added suspense, including family drama, tabloid scandals, and a crazy stalker on the loose.

The warm spot I have in my heart for Maximoff keeps growing, and I continue to swoon over Farrow’s protectiveness and intrinsic understanding of Maximoff’s needs. We get to learn more about the bodyguards that make up the Omega Team, as well as their unique bonds with their individual clients, and it feels like we’re part of their inner circle. What a great group of guys.

The book is on this longish side, and parts of the plot seem contrived, but I was entertained. There’s no cliffhanger here; however, I would like to see how things play out for Maximoff and Farrow, so I plan to read the next book.

A couple notes about the audiobook. Perhaps I just didn’t notice it before, but Alexander Cendese, who narrates Farrow, can be overenthusiastic in his delivery—particularly when he’s talking about how attracted he is to Maximoff. It’s forced and frankly kind of annoying. Also, there are quite few parts of the audio that were obviously re-recorded. The sound quality is poor on the edited portions. It almost sounds like they were recorded in a bathroom. Although J.F. Harding’s vocal performance as Maximoff is flawless, the other shortcomings affected my enjoyment. Points off for the narration.
