From the New York Times Bestselling Author Penny Reid

A (brokenhearted) physicist. Now an infamous (who is LITERALLY EVERYWHERE!! UGH!) musician. The worst has already happened.

Mona has learned that she has nothing figured out and plans are meaningless. After leaving her in Aspen, Abram is now breaking sales-records, rising to rock star fame almost overnight. Mona can’t seem to escape him. He is literally everywhere, or at least images of him are.

Just when she thinks things can't get any more confusing, Abram returns . . . What happens next? Only TIME will tell.

I originally gave this book 3.5 stars, but I upgraded it to 4 stars after sleeping on it, and here’s why. Motion, the first book in the Laws of Physics series, sets an infectious tone of both humor and suspense. The second book, Space, is achingly emotional. Time: Laws of Physics 3, while very enjoyable, is not the gripping conclusion I was anticipating.

Mona and Abram are still incredibly endearing. Mona’s mind is a brilliantly logical delight, and Abram has the most tender heart imaginable. I adore them both. Their romance is the mother of all slow burns (my favorite!). Two books later and my patience finally paid off in a big way. They are electric and absolutely enchanting together. Their swoony, unconditional love and respect for each other is the heart of this book.

The plot itself is rather straightforward and uneventful. Abram and Mona deal with the challenges of a long distance relationship, and I was absolutely invested, but I kept waiting for more. More struggles beyond just missing each other. More humor. More in-depth exploration of conflicts between Mona’s siblings. More time spent with characters that completely disappeared in this book. More glimpses into Mona’s life apart from Abram. Just…more.

This is a prime example of a character-driven story. I loved Mona and Abram’s frank discussions, flirtatious banter, and introspection. Their personal growth throughout the entire series is huge. It is a testament to Penny Reid’s highly developed characters that my interest was sustained even without any seismic events.

In hindsight, I wish I had adjusted my expectations beforehand and gone in prepared for a thoughtful romance instead of an all-consuming, agonizing heartbreaker. That’s my bad. And considering the quality of the writing and my love for Mona and Abram, I had to increase my rating. The story is filled with authentic emotions, and although the conclusion isn’t what I anticipated, I would not hesitate to read this series all over again.
