Thirty years ago, my father became the other half of a broken love story.

A relationship he’s kept hidden for decades.

Upon unearthing his secret through a series of emails in our paper’s archives, I began my search for the truth. Haunted by my father’s love story, and in my quest for answers, I never imagined I would discover a love of my own. Or that my love for Easton Crowne would be key in discovering the reason behind what split our parents up.

Doomed from the start and knowing the havoc our relationship would inevitably wreak on our families, I could never have prepared for the toll it would take or the cost of the truth.

But in order to find our ending, we had to go back to their beginning.

My name is Natalie Butler, and this is my star-crossed love story.

Reverse is the follow-up to Kate Stewart’s massive hit Drive, so it has big shoes to fill. I’m happy to say it fits quite nicely. I highly recommend reading Drive before reading Reverse. The story will have far more meaning if you do, and you’ll avoid major spoilers. Reverse is about the forbidden romance between the children of the main characters from the previous book.

I have a feeling I would have enjoyed this book more a few years ago, but my tastes seem to be changing and I’m generally pickier these day. Beat is a love triangle so by its very nature Lucky is torn between two men. However, there’s torn and then there’s deciding but being too much of coward to actually follow through.

Cake is on the longish side, but I still enjoyed it very much. This is one of those rock star romances where you have enough time to get a true sense of what daily life is like for one of the world’s most famous musicians—from glamorous things such as dealing with mega fans and headlining a European tour, to ordinary things like going to family barbeques and shopping at Target.
