I love L.J. Shen’s writing, but I’m afraid this The End Zone missed the mark for me. Let me start by saying that I don’t have the same expectations for novellas as I do for full-length novels. It’s extremely difficult to convey a well-rounded storyline with fully developed characters in under 150 pages.

For me, getting lost in a book is unmatched in its ability to soothe and excite. It was a joy to read Someone Else’s Ocean from cover to cover in one sitting. The story sucked me in from the emotional prologue and I was a goner.
I read Tattered for July’s Ultimate Reading Challenge to read a book with a cover you love, and what a gorgeous cover it is! This book went down nice and easy. Tattered is such a delightful story that is filed with warmth. Single parent romances are my kryptonite, and this one comes with a strong woman, an honorable man, and an adorable little girl.
The Winston Brothers series revolves around six bearded brothers who are completely distinctive, wonderfully complicated, and equally endearing. I’ve never read anything by Judith McNaught before but Perfect was highly recommended so I decided to check it out of the library. The story grabbed me from the first chapter and I found myself staying up until the wee hours of the morning desperate to see what the characters would do next and yet dreading the end of the story.
Wow! The cover of Devney Perry’s upcoming TIMID is absolutely gorgeous, and the synopsis sounds like one emotional swoon fest.
I’ve never been so happy to be taken hostage by a book! Lately I’ve been feeling kind of funky. Book funky, that is. I’ve been disinterested in reading, and it’s been troubling me because I freaking love to read! I needed something to snap me the hell out of it, and The Upside of Falling did just that. I could not put this book down. And the cherry on top of this addictive sundae is that it’s only the first book in a duet.

I am proudly sporting dark smudges and Samsonite bags under my eyes. They are the battle scars of a reader who was compelled to pull an all-nighter to read The Accidentals in one sitting. I have long been a fan of Sarina Bowen’s writing, but I think this is among her best work yet. It is her first Young Adult novel and she nails it! The story is breathtakingly haunting in the most wonderful way. Even my feels have feels, and I don’t know what to do with them all!
Book: 3 stars Audiobook: DNF @ 50% Pucked was an okay read, but I guess I was expecting more given the popularity of this series.
