It is hard to believe that Lessons in Chemistry is Bonnie Garmus’s debut novel. This thoughtful, emotional, and clever story is easily one of the best books I’ve read this year.

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week‘s topic is Hilarious Book Titles. I had trouble with this one because I associate hilarious book titles with children’s books. You know, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and all that. So I’m putting my own spin on the topic and listing books with clever or punny titles. Many of these titles are funny because of the book’s setting.
Review: Reverse by Kate Stewart
Reverse is the follow-up to Kate Stewart’s massive hit Drive, so it has big shoes to fill. I’m happy to say it fits quite nicely. I highly recommend reading Drive before reading Reverse. The story will have far more meaning if you do, and you’ll avoid major spoilers. Reverse is about the forbidden romance between the children of the main characters from the previous book.
Audiobook Review: Little Lies by H. Hunting
H. Hunting successfully kicks off her dramatic new adult series with Little Lies. I like college romance, and if you throw in a friends-turned-enemies-turned-lovers relationship animosity between the two main characters you can count on me to read it.

Review: The Fixer Upper by Lauren Forsythe
The Fixer Upper is billed as a romantic comedy, but I disagree. There’s only the slightest bit of romance, and while lighthearted, it isn’t particularly funny. It is, however, an entertaining work of women’s fiction featuring winsome characters and an original premise. I enjoyed it.
