I was raised on the streets, so I know things are rarely as simple as they appear—especially this rich girl showing up at my pawnshop demanding a job. She’s the most tempting thing I’ve ever seen, and I’ll be damned if I can make her leave.
Shit just got complicated … but when it comes to her, I want complicated. We’re both fighting our own demons, and our only chance at a future is to let go of the past.
But will we be strong enough to break free from beneath these chains?
Beneath These Chains is the third book in the Beneath series, but each of these hot contemporary romances can be enjoyed as a stand alone. Then again, why would you want to miss out on all the alpha heros and the women who bring them to their knees? After all, there's something for everyone in New Orleans...
Meghan March serves up another winning addition to the Beneath series with Beneath These Chains. This is the third book in the series, and it’s filled with intrigue and suspense, plus all the steam I’ve come to expect from Ms. March. This story is about Lord—Con’s brother—and Elle—Vanessa’s best friend from Beneath This Ink.
Elle is a sassy, rebellious socialite who comes to work in Lord’s pawn shop of all places. She has enough baggage to fill an entire Samsonite collection. The women in this series seem to have a lot of mommy and daddy issues, and Elle is no exception.
Lord almighty. Lord is one fine, dirty-talking specimen. He’s the ultimate Alpha bada$s from the wrong side of the tracks. Somehow he manages to be fiercely protective without being controlling. Vanessa is stubborn and vehemently independent. They say opposites attract, and they really do with this unlikely yet perfectly paired couple.
There’s a murder mystery, gang threats, and enough family dysfunction to keep the reader interested. If you like your erotica with a decent plot, Beneath These Chains should fit the bill.
The audio book is narrated by the wonderful Andi Arndt and the absolutely yummy Sebastian York.
