The Risk is the second book in the Briar U series, and I continue to be charmed by the sports romances set on an Ivy League college campus. The strength of the series so far seems to be its confident heroines who frequently outshine the hockey players.
The books in the Brooklyn Bruisers series have been hit or miss for me, but Brooklynaire is a friends-to-lovers story that hits all the right notes.

Mariana Zapata slays it again with an utterly entertaining enemies-to-lovers story set within the world of professional figure skating. I listened to the audiobook of From Lukov with Love which is 15 hours long (524 pages), and I can honestly say that I didn’t want it to end.
Brace yourself. If you think Block Shot is your run of the mill enemies to lovers romance, think again. This book is simply more: more complicated, more impassioned, and more believable.

The Good Luck Charm is custom made for second chance romance lovers. Helena Hunting gives us some tension mixed with humor, and adds hockey to satisfy sports romance addicts like me. It’s a great combo.
What a fun start to what I predict will be a winning series. I fell in love with Briar University and their hockey team in the Off-Campus series. Most of the players have graduated, so now is the perfect time for a fresh start with the new Briar U series.
I love L.J. Shen’s writing, but I’m afraid this The End Zone missed the mark for me. Let me start by saying that I don’t have the same expectations for novellas as I do for full-length novels. It’s extremely difficult to convey a well-rounded storyline with fully developed characters in under 150 pages.

The Varlet and the Voyeur is the final book in the Rugby series—a collection of romantic comedies written by L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid that are intended to make readers fall in love with a bunch of Irish meatheads and the unique women who redeem them. Their efforts have been successful, by the way.
