Get ready to ride . . .
Tyra Masters has had enough drama to last a lifetime. Now, she's back on track and looking forward to her new, quiet life. Until she meets the man of her dreams. The tattooed, muscled biker plies her with tequila-and the best sex of her life. She knows it isn't the tequila and hot sex talking. He's the kind of man she's always wanted. Unfortunately, he's also her new boss . . .
Kane "Tack" Allen has a rule. He doesn't employ someone he's slept with. So when he learns he spent last night in bed with his new office manager, he quickly fires Tyra. Yet when Tyra stands up to him and fights for her job, Tack is intrigued. He tells her she can keep her job on one condition: no more sex. Ever. But as things heat up between them, Tack finds that he'll be the one breaking all the rules...
What a whirlwind! Motorcycle Man packed it all into 522 pages: a strong heroine, a tough alpha male, the Russian mafia, an unconventional romance, commandos, a crazy ex-wife, kidnappings, teenage kids, motorcycle club dissension, biker babes, even cooking.
It took some time for me to warm up to Kane “Tack” Allen. He was a complete jerk to Tara in the beginning. I’ve never disliked a hero more. Over time, however, he earned Tara’s respect and as he worked his way into her good graces, he won me over as well. I always knew he was a badass, but he wound up being surprisingly tender and extremely loyal.
Kristen Ashley gives a distinctive voice to Tack. This is my first MC book so I don’t know if it’s biker talk or not but he has a clipped form of speech that doesn’t flow smoothly. Many times I found myself needing to re-read sentences for comprehension which took my focus away from the story.
The appalling behavior of Tack in the beginning, as well as his bizarre slang, did spoil my enjoyment of the story somewhat. All in all, however, I appreciated the crazy ride.
