I’ve seen the 2005 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice too many times to count and the A&E mini-series as well, but I’m ashamed to say that I’ve never read the novel before now. What strikes me is how true to the book the adaptations are, but they still pale in comparison to Jane Austen’s words in all their glory. The story is witty and romantic and I’m even more desperately in love with the original fab four: Elizabeth, Darcy, Jane, and Bingley. It’s absolute perfection.
One of my most anticipated 2020 reads is almost here. The Life Duet, a mind-bending romantic duet from Jewel E. Ann, is coming February 6th. These covers are giving me serious Jack & Jill series vibes!
Amy Harmon combines science fiction with historical fiction in this unique romance.
Maybe I’m just going through a picky phase, but 2019 was the Year of the Great Book Slump for me. While there were many books I enjoyed reading, only a handful of new releases wowed me enough to earn five stars. Here are ten of my favorite books of 2019.
Unloved serves up angst on a silver platter, which was perfect for me because I was in the mood for some heavy drama. This is not a warm and fuzzy story.
I am happy to say that the second book in the All the King’s Men Duet does not disappoint. In fact, I think I enjoyed it more than The Kingmaker. The Rebel King is filled with action, heartache, and aching tenderness.
Let’s start the New Year with a new book for your bookshelf! Giveaway winner will choose one of five paperbacks I loved reading in 2019. The 2019 Favorites Blog Hop is being held on Facebook and is open internationally. BROKEN KNIGHT by L.J. Shen DOWN TOO DEEP by J. Daniels THE FRIEND ZONE by Abby Jimenez JERSEY SIX by Jewel E. Activism, while admirable and essential in the real world, isn’t something I would think to base a fictional romance around. In fact, I wasn’t sure The Kingmaker would appeal to me, but knowing what a versatile storyteller Kennedy Ryan is, I was excited to see what she had up her sleeves. What she produced utterly dazzled me.
Yes! I just struck single parent rom com gold with The Guy on the Left. It is the next book in Kate Stewart’s The Underdogs series and it’s Troy’s story. We first meet Troy in The Guy on the Right, but both books can be read independently.
You would never guess that Outmatched is co-authored. Kristen Callihan and Samantha Young have seamlessly matched their writing styles to produce this enjoyable little gem.
I read In the Unlikely Event in one sitting so the story definitely sucked me in, but my reactions were a bit all over the place.
