“This story is not about me falling in love. This story is about me learning to live again after love left my life.” This book was a nice surprise. I expected a book that deals with the five stages of grieving to be gut wrenching so I’d put off reading it until a day when I was in the mood for a good cry and when I was stocked up on Puffs. Undoubtedly, there are many sad times but the first chapter was the only one I thought was truly heartbreaking (okay, and maybe another towards the end). Those occasions are outweighed by many uplifting moments throughout the book.
It’s been a few years since I read the original Driven trilogy. K. Bromberg has expanded the series since then, but Colton and Riley remain my favorite couple. Aced is a nice way to fill in the gap between the end of their story and the epilogue.
All I Am is a quick and sexy little spin off of Jodi Ellen Malpas’s wildly successful This Man series. The plot centers around Drew in this story. It’s been so long since I’ve read the trilogy that I completely forgot who Drew was at first, but there’s enough exposition that your memory will be easily refreshed. FYI, Drew is one of Jesse’s two best mates.
I wasn’t prepared for Hot Cop to be so entertaining, but man did I enjoy it. Laurelin Paige and Sierra Simone show they are an impressive pair in this amusing romance that is both enticingly erotic and delectably sweet at the same time.
My experience reading paranormal romance is limited. I read the Twilight series a billion years ago—I’ll wait while you roll your eyes—and the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries—which I think are awesome by the way and much better than True Blood, the TV series. Other than those, I’ve only read a handful of PNR books. While I’ve enjoyed many of them, it’s just not my favorite genre, so I admit I the blurb for Sugar & Gold gave me pause. I love Emma Scott, though, so I decided to give the book a chance and I’m really glad I did.
The Foxe & the Hound by R.S. Grey was the perfect romantic comedy to charm me out of my rainy day funk.
I’m super excited to be heading to the Sexy & Sassy Signing in Baltimore in a few weeks. I know most of you can’t be there so I asked myself:
There are different kinds of love triangles, but the type depicted in One is a Promise is my favorite because there is no cheating and no clear “right” choice for the heroine. This is the first book in Pam Godwin’s new Tangled Lies trilogy.
When Life Happened is one of Jewel E. Ann’s strongest novels to date, and that’s really saying something. I’ve been a huge fan of her masterful storytelling, so it should not come as a surprise that this addictive book left me conflicted and entirely enthralled.
Take a look at the gorgeous cover of the final sexy standalone in the Beneath World from USA Today bestselling author Meghan March. BENEATH THE TRUTH comes out on August 8th!
911, I’ve got a situation. You see, what had happened was I was reading Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren and my Kindle spontaneously combusted. Like, we’re talking flames shot out of that bad boy, and now my bedroom is covered in a thick cloud of smoke and my comforter is charred. In my defense, the book really should have come with some kind of warning about explosively erotic scenes so I would have had my fire extinguisher on hand. Just sayin’.
