Let me preface this by saying I don’t read a lot of novellas. The length just doesn’t allow enough time to sufficiently develop characters, and the thin plots typically leave me feeling unsatisfied. It’s impossible for me to hold them to the same standards as full-length novels. That said, Fling is the first book I’ve read by Jana Aston, and if she can write a novella this entertaining I’m excited to read one of her full-length novels.
I freely admit I’m one of those greedy readers who looks forward to a good epilogue. I’ll take a HEA whenever I can get one, and the ending in Turbulence is mighty fine. However, it doesn’t have the coveted epilogue!
Ohmygosh! This book! I freely admit I’m an angst whore, but Low takes angst to a whole new level. It is, without a doubt, the most anxiety-producing novel I’ve ever read. At one point I had to reach out and phone a friend. (Thanks, Christy, for the hand holding.)
Dear Penny Reid, You can stop trying to dominate my list of favorite authors now. I get it. Your writing is hilarious, smart, effortless, and super romantic. Given your prolific body of work, it’s just not fair to other romantic comedy authors out there. Now you’ve gone and shoved your brilliance in my face once again with Beard Science.
I’m surprised by how much I enjoyed this. The childhood boyfriend who goes away to college and comes back a changed man plot is nothing new, and I either enjoy or loathe love triangles depending on my mood and the story. Black Swan Affair is decidedly different though. Mystery, backstabbing, and selfless love elevate what could be your typical love triangle into something wonderfully complex and unpredictable.
Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward have delivered another fun and sexy story with Playboy Pilot.
I love Whitney Garcia Williams. Her stories are refreshing and her characters are usually fun, unpredictable, and relatable. I liked the premise of the Mid-Life Love, but my frustration with the main character, Claire, prevented me from loving it.
