The Hook Up by Kristen Callihan

I feel like I hit the jackpot with this book. I bought it because I heard it was a good college romance and I was in the mood for a light read. What I wound up with was the Swiss Army knife of books: humor, banter, sports, steamy sexy times, a little angst, and the feels – oh, the feels! – all rolled into one. This book has it all, and the superb writing captured my attention from the very first page.

Review: The Deal by Elle Kennedy

Review: The Deal by Elle Kennedy

If you read the book description you can pretty much predict the plot of The Deal, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying every bit of Hannah and Garrett’s journey toward their Happily Ever After. It was so easy to connect with both Hannah and Garrett that I couldn’t help but fall in love with them. As a couple, their chemistry was off the charts. The hilarious verbal sparring and surprisingly touching moments between the two helped elevate this simple enemies-to-lovers story. The Deal is funny and sweet, with a bit more steamy sexy times than your average New Adult novel. What was meant to be a quick weekend read turned into one of my favorite romances of 2015.

Overruled by Emma Chase

Overruled by Emma Chase

I’m a huge fan of Emma Chase’s Tangled series. There’s no love quite like your first love though so I approached Overruled with a combination of excitement and trepidation. I’m pleased to say I read it in one sitting so Emma Chase FTW! If you’re sensitive to themes of infidelity however, this might not be the book for you since cheating is involved – only not really. Let me break it down for you.

Review: Sweet Obsession by J. Daniels

Sweet Addiction was my very first taste of erotica. The combination of baking and sex, sugar and spice made it the perfect introduction to the genre, and I jokingly blame J. Daniels for corrupting my sweet, innocent mind. I quickly gobbled up the second book, Sweet Possession, and I was sad to say goodbye to the quirky cast of characters I’d grown so fond of. So when I found out that man crazy Brooke was getting her very own book, I was beyond excited. J. Daniels crossing over characters from her Alabama Summer series? It was just icing on the cake.

So I’ve got this thing for cake batter. I know it has no nutritional value whatsoever. Whenever I’m baking a cake, I tell myself I’m going to leave just a little batter on the spoon to lick after I put the cake in the oven. Next thing I know I’m scraping the beaters and licking the bowl, my entire face covered with batter. Am I proud of this? No. What was my point? Oh yes. Sweet Addiction isn’t an enlightening work of fiction. This isn’t an innocent little love story. This is no Pride and Prejudice. This is a graphically sexy, foul-mouthed, laugh-out-loud novel, and I loved it.

Review: Never Never: Part 1 by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher

Wow! I just finished reading this and my heart is still pounding. Each chapter of Never Never is filled with angsty, twisty goodness. And while it raises more questions than answers, the story line is coherent and I was completely hooked from the start. It’s hard to believe it was written by two authors. Their writing styles melded seamlessly. I found the character development and plot progression to be superb and atypical of novellas.
