Sometimes the hardest book reviews for me to write are for the books I enjoy the most. I fell truly, madly, deeply in love with Goodbye Paradise by Sarina Bowen, and even though I’ve spent a day trying to find something insightful to say, basically all I’ve got is that you should read this book.
I liked this story about perseverance, acceptance, and forgiveness. You have two people burdened with guilt: one who is desperate for a chance at redemption; the other who accepts his life of hardship as penance. Zelda and Beckett are quite similar. In addition to living under a cloud of regret, they are both completely broke (and broken) and basically alone in NYC. After a chance meeting, they decide to join forces in a mutually beneficial financial arrangement.
Jen Frederick rocks the heck out of this rock star romance. All the ingredients are there to make Unwritten an entertaining read, and the result is quite successful.
Reading this book was an exercise in frustration. Here’s the plot in a nutshell. A man is a prick, a woman is fixated on his dick, said man breaks said woman’s heart, and they wind up starring in a Broadway show opposite each other as lovers.
I’m an unabashed sports romance junkie even though some of them aren’t very original. Jen Frederick has a knack for writing new adult sports romances that manage to avoid being formulaic. Downed is the third book in the enjoyable Gridiron series, and it does not disappoint.
These tearjerkers are going to be the death of me! Full Tilt is an exceptional one, however, and I’m so glad I was willing let it wreck me because it has more to offer than just heartache.
Audio Book Review My previous Karina Halle reads have involved lots of drama and angst, which made me curious. Can she pull off romantic comedy? Smut proves that the answer is yes—extremely well.
When it comes to college sports romances, you don’t get much better than Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series. I’ve enjoyed all three previous books, and The Goal is a winning addition to the series. This is Tucker and Sabrina’s story.
Fair warning. This review is probably going to suck because there’s nothing I can say that will adequately convey the way The Silent Waters affected me. I admit I was hesitant to read it. I wasn’t sure I was emotionally prepared for a book whose synopsis clearly states that it’s heartbreaking and tragic. However, I have absolutely no regrets about reading this book other than the fact that I’m now left with a massive book hangover.
I’m waffling between 2.5 stars and 3 stars on this one. The thing I enjoyed about the most about Where Sea Meets Sky: Josh. I loved Josh. His quirkiness, passion, patience, fearlessness, and honesty make him wildly appealing. I just wish he didn’t allow himself to be such a doormat.
When I think of a Meghan March book, New Adult Romance is not a genre that comes to mind and neither is Romantic Comedy. Edgy, erotic, and suspenseful are all terms I’ve used to describe her previous work. I admit I was a wee bit skeptical that she could pull off a New Adult Romantic Comedy that’s still a little sexy, but I’ll be damned if Bad Judgment didn’t pleasantly surprise me.
I think Bright Side is a flawless book, so even though I was curious about what happens next with Gus, I was hesitant to read this continuation of the story. I mean, how does an author successfully follow up an emotional five-star read? I have no idea, but Kim Holden makes it look easy with Gus.
