With It End With Us, Colleen Hoover has easily delivered my favorite book of hers yet. It’s profound and entirely enthralling. This story gripped me from the first chapter and refused to let go until the very last word. It left me fundamentally changed and in awe of Hoover’s talent.
This is the third book I’ve read by Renée Carlino, and I must say she knows how to weave an intriguing tale. In Swear on This Life, she has created a unique story that is engrossing as well as thought-provoking.
Renée Carlino is one heck of a writer. The characters she brings to life have great depth, and her stories are well plotted and very engaging, with awesome angst mixed in. Sweet Thing is no exception.
The book blurb should have the following warning: “You’d better hold on tight because you’re about to embark on one hell of a suspenseful rollercoaster.” Instead, the blurb says this book is, “sexy,” and, “hot.” I think that’s misleading. This isn’t a racy romance novel with a little whodunit thrown in. Yes, there are some romantic aspects that help propel the plot, but He Will Be My Ruin is first and foremost an edgy, hardcore, emotional thriller that kept me guessing until the end.
Say what you want about Colleen Hoover, her writing is exceptional. Her books always have extremely original plots that captivate me from the very first page. New Adult novels tend to be hit or miss with me, and despite some objections I really enjoyed this one.
Let me just cut to the chase. I freaking loved this book! The synopsis sounded unique, and given my weakness for second chance love stories, I knew I had a potential winner on my hands. Well, it delivered all that and a bag of chips. I absolutely devoured it. Before We Were Strangers is easily one of my favorite books of 2015.
