Knitting in the City has fast become one of my favorite romantic comedy series, and Beauty and the Mustache is now one of my favorite books in the series. I started listening to the audio book version when I needed a pick me up, and it delivered in a big way. Joy Nash’s narration is perfection—southern accent and all.
I apologize in advance to the author of the next book I read. Their book may be wonderful, but there’s no way right now that it can live up to the way Grip by Kennedy Ryan touched me. The feels! Oh my goodness, the feels! I’ve lost the ability to even. My book hangover is a living, breathing, horrible/wonderful thing. I read the free prequel, Flow, yesterday morning because I’d heard good things about it, and hey… free. I loved it and immediately 1-clicked this full-length conclusion. Thankfully, I had the day off, so I stayed in my PJs and dived straight into Grip. This story sunk its claws into me and would not let me go. I didn’t come up for air until I finished.
I have never believed in Santa Claus, and the Tooth Fairy was highly suspect as a child. However, the idea of a fairy godmother, while not remotely realistic, has always appealed to me. Mariana Zappata is like a literary fairy godmother, able to transform the deepest of book slumps into joy simply with strokes on a keyboard. I was in a book Funk with a capital “F” after reading my last book. Zappata worked her magic with Lingus, though, and I couldn’t be more grateful.
Just when I think Kate Stewart can’t do any better, she manages to prove me wrong. I was a massive fan of her previous book, Anything But Minor, so this one had fairly large shoes to fill. Well, butter my butt and call me a biscuit if I didn’t enjoy Major Love just as much, if not more.
Jana Aston just made my day. This story is so freaking cute that I giggled—actually giggled like a schoolgirl—my way through the first chapter of Trust. That led to full-out laughing out loud and swooning throughout the rest of the book. In the end, I wound up with sore cheeks from smiling so much. Chloe is absolutely adorkable. Her numerous dating disasters are cringe-worthy and hysterical. She takes the prize as the most socially awkward, anxiety-ridden, yet lovable character in recent memory. Like, we’re total besties now.
I’ve got a cure for anything that ails you, and it’s called Anything But Minor. Kate Stewart knocks it out of the park in this feel-good sports romance that’s hilarious, sweet, and deliciously sultry.
I started reading So Much More yesterday evening and before I knew it the sun was rising. I simply had to finish it so I got zero sleep. And you know what? It’s worth the yawns, puffy eyes, and dark circles I’m suffering today because once again Kim Holden has slain me with a fascinating story that has all the feels and then some.
This book! I’m still floored. Truth: I’ve wanted to read Kulti for quite some time, but I was put off by the long length. I finally caved when I discovered I could borrow the audio book from the library—16 hours worth of narration. I’m not gonna lie. Kulti has a detailed storyline that unfolds at an extremely leisurely pace. However, it’s totally absorbing. My only regret is waiting so long to read this!
I think Bright Side is a flawless book, so even though I was curious about what happens next with Gus, I was hesitant to read this continuation of the story. I mean, how does an author successfully follow up an emotional five-star read? I have no idea, but Kim Holden makes it look easy with Gus.
Where is that sixth star when you need it? I knew full well going in that Bright Side would be a tear-jerker and might break my heart, but you know what? I don’t regret a single page. Above all, this is a stirring, feel-good story, and I was surprised by how much I laughed and smiled throughout.
Reading One True Loves felt a lot like falling in love. For me, it started out as a hesitant attraction to the story and quickly evolved into a passionate affair. I was fully invested and wanted the wonderful feeling to last. As things evolved, however, and complications arose, I braced myself for heartache. I was no longer certain what a fairy tale ending looked like. I just knew the love story would end, and someone would wind up getting hurt.
Why didn’t someone tell me about R.K. Lilley, and specifically about Breaking Him, before now?! This story is like book crack—positively addictive and emotionally lethal. It gutted me time and time again, and I couldn’t get enough.
