Review: Sidebarred by Emma Chase

Review: Sidebarred by Emma Chase

April 24, 2016 Angela Reviews, Romantic Comedy

If Romantic Comedy were a land of monarchy, Emma Chase would be firmly seated on the throne. I fell in love with her Tangled series, and Drew Evans became my ultimate book boyfriend. Then along came the Legal Briefs series. The entire series is charming, but I crowned Sustained my Favorite Romantic Comedy of All-Time and—almost impossibly—Drew had to step aside because he proved to be no competition for Jake Becker. Jake, Chelsea, and the six McQuaid nieces and nephews completely stole my heart. Basically, what I’m getting at is if you haven’t read this series, you’re seriously missing out.

Review ♥ Trust by Ella Frank

Review ♥ Trust by Ella Frank

April 22, 2016 Angela Erotica, LGBTQ, Reviews

I don’t have a lot to say about Trust except Ella Frank blew me away. It’s like she peeked inside my mind, saw everything I hoped to feel, learn and see, and then she wrapped it all up in an appealing package just for me. Sometimes a series peters out and I find myself wishing the author had quit while she/he was ahead. I thought the Temptation series just kept getting better and stronger.

Review ♥ Paper Princess by Erin Watt

Review ♥ Paper Princess by Erin Watt

Hello, Book Hangover. I haven’t seen you in awhile. I don’t know whether to be thankful I indulged in this book crack—also know as Paper Princess—or mad that I have to wait until late summer for the next book in this addictive trilogy. I’ve really enjoyed the work of Elle Kennedy and Jen Frederick in the past. Put them together, add the pseudonym Erin Watt, and you have one dynamic duo. This book has a little something for everyone, and I’m glad I had a free day where I could devour it from cover to cover.

Audiobook Review & Giveaway: Reasonable Doubt by Whitney G.

Audiobook Review & Giveaway: Reasonable Doubt by Whitney G.

Volume One is now free! Amazon | Barnes & Noble | iBooks Review Reasonable Doubt is one of my all-time favorite erotica series. There’s always a bit of trepidation when I re-read a favorite book—a concern that it won’t be as good as I remember. I had the perfect excuse to re-read Reasonable Doubt Full Series (Vol. 1-3) when I was gifted an audiobook copy, but I was still hesitant. I had a specific voice in mind for the anti-hero, Andrew, and much like movie adaptations of books, I was worried it wouldn’t live up to my expectations. My fears were completely unfounded because I loved the book even more the second time around, and the voice actors are spot on.

Review ♥ Big Rock by Lauren Blakely

Review ♥ Big Rock by Lauren Blakely

I can pretty much sum up my review in five words. I. Effing. Loved. This. Book. I wasn’t sure I would like it because I’m not into covers with mostly naked men—shocking, I know. I always feel like they’re overcompensating for a small…plot. And really the basis of the story isn’t anything deep or even original. Best friends pretend to be a couple, but eventually they cross the line between pretending and genuinely feeling something more. The End. Right? Except not so much in this case.

Review: Dawn of Forever by Jewel E. Ann

Review: Dawn of Forever by Jewel E. Ann

January 24, 2016 Angela Reviews, Romantic Suspense

“I want to be your everything, but only while I’m here. If the day comes that I’m not, then let me go. Let me be your greatest memory.” I’ve been singing the praises of the Jack & Jill series ever since I took a chance on End of Day, the amazingly unique first book in the trilogy. It’s incredibly hard to maintain that level of excellence throughout a series though, and—I’ll admit it—I’m a difficult reader to please. I braced myself for disappointment with Dawn of Forever. I threw down the gauntlet, daring Jewel E. Ann to impress me again, and wouldn’t you know she picked it up and ran with it? Jewel E. Ann has pulled off the virtually impossible by creating not one, not two, but three full-length novels of exceptional quality.

Review ♥ Attraction: Elements of Chemistry by Penny Reid

Review ♥ Attraction: Elements of Chemistry by Penny Reid

January 1, 2016 Angela New Adult, Reviews, Romance

I thought this would be an average New Adult opposites attract story, but it surpassed my expectations in every way. It’s extremely rare that I give five stars to a novella. That’s mainly because the short length doesn’t allow an author to sufficiently develop characters with whom I can connect. Novellas also tend to suffer from rushed or disjointed narratives. Such isn’t the case with Attraction: Elements of Chemistry #1.
