I love the sense of camaraderie and shared passion found in sports romances. Sports rom-coms are my go-to for a quick escape, but when I want more substance, I know I can turn to Kennedy Ryan. With Hook Shot, she uses the backdrop of professional basketball once again to deliver another heartfelt romance.

Brace yourself. If you think Block Shot is your run of the mill enemies to lovers romance, think again. This book is simply more: more complicated, more impassioned, and more believable.
Smile, happy sigh, heart tug, repeat. Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating filled me with undiluted joy from beginning to end. The main source of all the warm fuzzies are the two main characters.
The Kiss Quotient is Helen Hoang’s debut novel, and she slays the heck out of it. I was hoping for a nice feel-good romantic comedy, but I feel like I won the lottery. This book is complete perfection—every single sentence.
I am a fan of Kennedy Ryan’s work, and I have a weakness for sports romances. When I found out Long Shot isn’t a comedy like most books in the genre, I was intrigued. Another selling point is that it takes place in the world of profession basketball; whereas, the majority of sports romances I’ve read are related to hockey, football, or baseball. That combination should have made Long Shot a slam dunk for me, but I found myself liking rather than loving it.
What is this I’m feeling? That would be all the feels. All. The. Feels. Still is the dynamic conclusion to Grip and Bristol’s love story, and to say it consumed me would be an inadequate tribute to Kennedy Ryan’s writing. I’m still in recovery mode.
I apologize in advance to the author of the next book I read. Their book may be wonderful, but there’s no way right now that it can live up to the way Grip by Kennedy Ryan touched me. The feels! Oh my goodness, the feels! I’ve lost the ability to even. My book hangover is a living, breathing, horrible/wonderful thing. I read the free prequel, Flow, yesterday morning because I’d heard good things about it, and hey… free. I loved it and immediately 1-clicked this full-length conclusion. Thankfully, I had the day off, so I stayed in my PJs and dived straight into Grip. This story sunk its claws into me and would not let me go. I didn’t come up for air until I finished.
Flow surprised me. It is the prequel to the full-length standalone novel, Grip. I tend to lower my expectations for books as short as Flow. The storytelling is typically rushed, leaving readers with a flat perception of the characters and an overall unsatisfied feeling. Flow is a wonderful exception.
