I will happily read anything written by Sarina Bowen, but Moonlighter was just okay for me. I loved Alex’s intelligence and independence. Eric is such a steady and faithful sweetheart to his teammates, his family, and Alex.
The Change Up was so entertaining! I loved the chemistry between Kinsley and Maddox, as well as the humor that only lifelong friends can share. I really enjoyed it, but I feel the need to give a couple disclaimers.
Hard to Handle is book one in K. Bromberg’s new Play Hard series, which centers around four sisters trying to save their family’s sports management firm. I was pleasantly surprised by how touching it is.
I’ve been obsessed with the Olympic games – gymnastics, in particular – since I was a young girl. Every four years, I find myself glued to my television, cheering on Team U.S.A. When I found out Head Over Heels was a romance centered around a gymnast training for the Olympics, the decision to read it was a no-brainer.
Elle Kennedy’s Briar U series is filled with lovable goofball hockey players and the girls that put up with love them. The Dare is the fourth standalone set on the Ivy League campus and both the lady and the jock shine bright.
This was a perfectly fine read for me. A Secret for a Secret is sweet and sexy and there isn’t anything glaringly wrong. It just didn’t wow me the way some of the other books in the series have.
The Lying Hours is a modern take on Cyrano de Bergerac. I was worried I’d spend the majority of the book just waiting for the main character to be caught in a lie, but it’s not nearly as bad as I feared.
Sarina Bowen is like my sports romance fairy godmother. The Trade is one s-l-o-w burn romance. The flame between Cory and Natalie actually burns hot right from the very beginning, but due to a combination of insecurities, misunderstandings, and fears, neither wants to act on their feelings. The sexual tension goes on and on forever and it just about tortured me to death. When they finally get together, though, Cory and Natalie set the sheets on fire! What a payoff!
I don’t typically go for high school romances, but Dear Ava is a really well written enemies to lovers new adult story.
A bunch of feel-good moments are packed into this book, making A Favor for a Favor a joy to read. I knew Helena Hunting had a potential hit series on her hands after reading A Lie for a Lie. It’s now official because I enjoyed this book even more.
I’m learning that Meghan Quinn has a knack for writing laugh out loud sports romantic comedies where the sport truly is integral to the plot. The Dugout is very entertaining and, although I don’t follow baseball, I imagine it must be a baseball fan’s wet dream.
