Standalone M/M romance.
I was afraid to fly.
He made me soar. After years of climbing the ladder of success in the music industry, I finally had everything I could want. Yet I still found myself wandering through life alone.
Captain Evan Roth was the one man I never saw coming. Tall, dark, mysterious… Straight.
We were both damaged beyond repair and searching for something so elusive we weren’t sure it even existed.
But, when two broken souls collide in midair, falling is a given.
I just never expected to crave the spiral down.
I fell crazy in love with this book! I don’t read very much M/M, but when I do I’m fond of the gay man falling for the straight guy scenario. There’s just something intriguing about chasing a straight man who is denying his true desires. Such is case in The Spiral Down when the openly gay rock superstar, Henry Alexander, sets his sights on the clearly straight pilot, Evan Roth.
The Spiral Down is a fictional feast of all my favorites, and each course is served to perfection. Comedy? Check. Cocky but vulnerable protagonists? Double check. Hot heroes? Mmm-hmm! Tenderness? Check. Plot twist? Yes. Conflict without being overly dramatic? Check. Fun setting? Check. Steady pacing? Check. Sexy times? A check for me. I wouldn’t classify it as erotica, but it’s steamy enough for my taste. Great epilogue? Yes indeedy.
This is only the second book I’ve read by Aly Martinez, but she can add me to her list of fans. Levee and Sam from The Fall Up appear in the story, but it’s not necessary to have read that book to understand and appreciate The Spiral Down. I thoroughly enjoyed this funny, heartwarming, and sizzling love story.
