Truth: Penn Walker entered my life like a summer storm—dark, ominous, and filled with thunder.
After witnessing my husband’s murder, I didn’t have much of a heart left to offer a man.
But Penn took it all. Every jagged shard. Every broken bit. Even the dirty and twisted pieces that I wish never existed.
Lie: I didn’t need him to save me.
Lie: I knew exactly who he was.
Lie: Losing him wouldn’t destroy me.But that’s the thing about lies—you never know who to believe.
The Truth About Us is every bit the adrenaline rush that I wanted. I flew through this conclusion to The Truth Duet.
With Cora living under the constant threat of danger, the plot is wonderfully fast-paced. It had me constantly guessing what would happen next, and I enjoyed being kept on the edge of my seat. The rushed ending, however, is a bit untidy. There is so much information tossed at the reader within one chapter that I’m still trying to parse exactly how things unfolded. Although my confusion left me just shy of being fully satisfied, I highly recommend this thrilling story. I’m curious to learn more about Drew, Penn’s partner in crime, so I’ll be looking forward to his story when The Ways We Lied is released.
