What if…
Someone you barely knew asked you for a favor.
What if…
They needed you to be something you weren’t, in exchange for nothing. Unless you count a mouth full of lies and a half-broken heart. Faker. Pretender. Liar. There are worse things to be called.
So would you do it? Would you?
Daphne Winthrop did.
And you’re about to find out what happens in the end.
Things Liars Fake is the final standalone in Sara Ney’s Three Little Lies novella trilogy, and it’s just as cute as the other stories.
Take the unlikely pairing of an adorkable hero and a babelicious heroine—who also embraces her inner nerd—and you have a winning couple. Daphne is a lovely character. She shows nothing but affection toward Dexter, so I found it difficult to understand Dexter’s extreme insecurities. He could use a few lessons in wooing women and picking up on romantic signals, and yet that makes him rather endearing.
While I enjoyed Dexter and Daphne, some of the other characters are too over the top for my taste. I’m looking at you, Dexter’s mom, Aunt B, and douchey cousin. I’m sure those who are in the mood for raucous humor would enjoy them, though. Count on Dexter’s crazy/sweet/scary twin sisters to shake things up a bit.
Things Liars Fake might be a somewhat predictable romance, but I enjoyed the fun slow burn that this novella offers.

I think after I read my first Douchebag I went back and read one or two of her older books and they just didnot grip me as much as Zeke did. I think Douchebag ruined me for everything else. 😀 But I’ve noticed that if I love the more recent work from authors I have a hard time with the earlier books. 🙁
