From USA Today and Amazon Charts bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a brand new romantic comedy about a one-night stand gone completely wrong. Laugh out loud and steamy with a heart-stopping happily ever after.
I knocked up my best friend's sister.
Figured I would get straight to the point because how it happened is a mere snippet of the story I have to tell. The real meat and potatoes is what happened after.
Let's start with how she decided to inform me and Pacey the news . . . together. Imagine that nightmare. I was going into what I thought was a hockey marketing meeting and then BAM! I'm going to be a dad and my best friend/teammate is attempting to imprint my face with his fist.
It wasn't pretty.Threats were tossed around, friendships were revoked, and then I was marched up to her apartment, suitcases in hand, and forced to live with her so I could take care of her every need. Given how much I've pined for the girl, you would think that wouldn't be a hardship. Wrong.
This is my one shot to win my teammate back. Pacey is the only family I've got, so hooking up with his sister isn't a mistake I can make twice . . . despite the fact that she's pregnant with my child.
But with every mood swing, every pair of pants that doesn't fit right, and every late night run to find the perfect donut, I'm finding it harder and harder not to fall for my best friend's little sister.
I enjoy a good surprise pregnancy story, and I love sports romance. Put them together, and Those Three Little Words should form a perfect union.
With Meghan Quinn’s humor, I either love it or I hate it. When she reels in her tendency towards over-the-top humor, I love it. And I was laugh-out-loud loving this at first. I was vibing with Penny’s awkwardness and her nonsensical verbal diarrhea. But then I hit the halfway mark, and what was charmingly amusing veers off into OTT humor territory. Penny becomes this raving lunatic who is rambling on to her parents about which sexual positions she’s used in the past and weaving a completely ludicrous thread of lies. It snapped me right out of enjoying the story, and I didn’t like Penny so much anymore. I wish I could say she redeems herself, but when she’s not jumping Eli’s bones three times a day (really?), she continues to act out and throw temper tantrums instead of communicating like an adult. And it’s all because of pregnancy hormones? It was too much for me.
Eli is a stand-up guy who is not put off by Penny’s childish behavior or attempts to push him away. I couldn’t figure out why he thinks he’s not good enough for her or why he believes Penny will be such a wonderful mom when she’s absolutely bonkers. I was ready for him to throw in the towel and just agree to co-parent.
I’m bummed because I really expected to love Those Three Little Words. It had such promise. Oh well.
Sorry this one didn’t work out for you.
