Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is Books I Was Excited to Get but Still Haven’t Read. All of these books have been hanging around on my TBR shelf, gathering dust, for at least a year. I’ve purchased Kindle or Audible copies for most of these. I’ve borrowed a couple from my public library but had to return them because I just couldn’t get to them in time.
- An Exaltation of Larks by Suanne Laqueur
- Runaway Girl by Tessa Bailey
- Sea of Run by Pam Godwin
- Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
- Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley
- The Shameless Hour by Sarina Bowen
- Idle Bloom by Jewel E. Ann
- Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover
- Cold-Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas
- Cracked Kingdom by Erin Watt
I feel particularly bad about Cracked Kingdom because I was so into this series but felt like I needed to take a little pause. That brief break has lasted years. I still plan to read this final book in the series.
Heart Bones is amazing!! You really need to read it. You won’t be sorry, I promise!🤗📚💜
I’m even more excited to read it now. 😊
Sea of Run & Heart Bones are also on my TBR! Maybe we’ll get to them one day 😂😂
Like minds…
I haven’t read Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda yet either.

Runaway Girl! That’s probably my favorite Tessa Bailey book. And Shameless Hour! That one was so good. I also enjoyed Heart Bones and Cracked Kingdom. I hope you get to these soon.
I read Getaway Girl and enjoyed it. I definitely want to read Runaway Girl before I see Tessa Bailey at a signing this summer!
Nice list. Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover was so very good. It’s a tear jerker!
Colleen Hoover is an expert in making me emotional!
Yep, I know how that goes! I have several on my shelves that I bought because I kept borrowing them from the library and not reading them. And guess what? I still haven’t! The struggle is real.
Happy TTT!

It’s so hard to keep up with ALL the books! The only one here I’ve read is the Simon book, which was really sweet and enjoyable. (But, you could also just watch the movie and/or the spin-off series Love Victor, which is amazing).
I haven’t watched the movie either, but I hear it’s also good!
I loved Simon after putting it off for so long myself. And Heart Bones is one of my faves of CoHo’s more recent books.
