Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week‘s topic is Books Set in a Place I’d Like to Visit (real places or fictional). I love it when a book transports me to a specific location and immerses me in the sights, sounds, textures, and smells found there. These books have given me a case of wanderlust.
1. Someone Else’s Ocean by Kate Stewart – St. Thomas
I’ve actually visited St. Thomas but didn’t get to fully explore.
2. Nowhere But Here by Renee Carlino – Napa Valley, California
3. A Place Without You by Jewel E. Ann – Coachella
4. Sweet Filthy Boy by Christina Lauren – Paris
I went to Paris. For two days in college. Pathetically short!
5. Alphas Like Us by Krista & Becca Ritchie – Greece
6. The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker – Alaska
7. Where Sea Meets Sky by Karina Halle – New Zealand
8. The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren – Hawaii
9. Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score – Knockemout, Virginia
10. Naked in Death by JD Robb – New York City, 2058
The book is set just far enough into the future to make the location different yet believable.
Your turn! Have you read any books set in a place you’d like to visit?
I wouldn’t mind seeing St. Thomas. I’ve been to Hawaii, so I can say it’s well worth a visit.
I have to really save up for Hawaii. I’m east coast so I’d probably break up the flight to stay in California overnight.
Yeah, it’s pricey. I would want to break up the flights, too. It’s about a 6 hour flight from Seattle.
