Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week is a freebie, and my chosen topic is Favorite Audiobook Narrators. When I first started listening to audiobooks I didn’t care for them. Either the narrator’s voice was annoying or just didn’t fit the character, or the acting was flat. I soon discovered that not all narrators are created equal and that vocal performance is a real gift. I have many go-to narrators now. Here are just ten of my favorites.
Jason Clarke |
Vanessa Edwin |
Eva Erickson |
J.F. Harding |
Stella Hunter |
Erin Mallon |
Maxine Mitchell |
Jacob Morgan |
Zachary Webber |
Julia Whelan |
So many great narrators here! A narrator totally makes a difference and there are good and bad ones. I got my friends listening to audiobooks when I told them that and also they can speed up from 1.0 to faster. So many people don’t realize that!
Yes! Speeding up the narration makes a huge difference.
Love this topic for a top ten Tuesday! I admit I don’t do a good job of paying attention to who narrates the audiobooks I read.
After awhile, the voices just became familiar to me. Then I intentionally started looking for books they narrated.
I almost chose this same topic, but decided to save it for another post. You have some that are on my list, too: Zachary Webber, Jason Clarke, and Julia Whelan are favorites of mine.
You have good taste! LOL. Lucky for us, they have each recorded tons of books. Lots to look forward to listening to.
Julia Whelan, Jacob Morgan and Zachary Webber (his voice is pure sex) are big favorites!
Those men and their sexy voices. *fans self*
I like Zachary Webber. Have you heard Aiden Snow? He read a good romance called Make Me Yours by Melanie Harlow.
I haven’t heard of him. I like Melanie Harlow, so I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation!
What a great topic. I love Julia Whelan as a narrator and an author
I’ve enjoyed her books as well. It’s nice when narrators read the books they’ve written.
Julia Whelan’s narrations are a favorite of mine too 🙂
