Top Ten Tuesday: Indie Books

Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is Indie Books (submitted by Nicole @ BookWyrm Knits). An indie book is one that is either independently published (also known as self-published) by the author or published through a small publishing company. With the invention of Kindles, indie books rose in popularity. I would say that at this point at least half of the books I read are indie books. Here are just a few that I recommend reading.

 

1. Bright Side by Kim Holden

2. Left Drowning by Jessica Park

3. Kulti by Mariana Zapata

When the man you worshipped as a kid becomes your coach, it’s supposed to be the greatest thing in the world. Keywords: supposed to.

4. Beauty and the Mustache by Penny Reid

Beauty and the Mustache is book #4 in the Knitting in the City series, and book #0.5 in the Winston Brothers series. Each book is a standalone, full length (110k words), contemporary romantic comedy novel, and follows the misadventures and exploits of seven friends in Chicago, all members of the same knitting group.

 

5. Undeniably You by Jewel E. Ann

Sydney Montgomery doesn’t plan to make a career out of house-sitting.

It’s just the means to an end. In a month, she’s off to visit the galleries of Europe and finish up the degree she needs to make her career as a museum curator. The life she’s been working for is finally within reach.
