Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week is an “April Showers” freebie. Rather than list books that feature rain on the cover, I thought it would be fun to spotlight books that made me cry buckets. Therefore, my Top Ten Tuesday topic for this week is Tearjerkers.
- Bright Side by Kim Holden
The main character secured a top spot on my list of favorite book heroines. I’m so happy I risked my heart to this story. I feel like a better person for having read it. - Full Tilt by Emma Scott
This is a gorgeous and tender love story. I freely admit my aching, hopeful heart had me reaching for Kleenex, but it hurt so good that I welcomed the tears. - For Lucy by Jewel E. Ann
I was captivated from Chapter One. I have no words to describe how acutely poignant and profound this book is. Yes, there are romantic and delightfully charming moments, but there are also difficult subject matters to address between two people who love each other deeply. - Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker –
Ten Tiny Breaths is a beautifully written story about loss, love and forgiveness. The end is extremely satisfying! - Undeniably You by Jewel E. Ann –
Undeniably You is one of my all-time favorite books, hands down! I smiled and swooned my way through the first half of the book. Mid-way through, the tone takes a dramatic turn. Things become complicated, serious, and heartbreaking. It’s so good! - Me Before You by JoJo Moyes
Knowing of this book’s heavy subject matter, I was fully prepared to put myself through the emotional wringer. And while I did go through quite a few tissues, I didn’t anticipate just how many funny moments there are. - Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan –
Archer’s Voice is one of those elusive romance novels that seems to have it all—depth, fun, compassion, a wonderful cast of characters, and some sultry love scenes. It’s held up upon multiple re-reads. - Left Drowning by Jessica Park
Yeah, this is a romance and yeah, it’s spicy in places, but it’s also a compelling story about loss, redemption, forgiveness, and the healing power of friendship. - The Silent Waters by Brittainy Cherry
I wasn’t sure I was emotionally prepared for a book whose synopsis clearly states that it’s heartbreaking and tragic. However, it’s an inspirational journey that left me with a massive book hangover. - A Thousand Boy Kisses by Tillie Cole
A Thousand Boy Kisses is stirring, sweet, inspiring, and yes, heartbreaking at times, but also very rewarding. It’s Young Adult at its loveliest.
Great twist on the topic! Crying buckets… I’ll have to *borrow* this topic at some point for a list of my own! 🙂
Feel free to use the topic!
This is an excellent ugly cry list. If I were making one, I would have seven of them on my list. I haven’t read the Jewel E. Ann or Cole books yet.
You’ve GOT to read Jewel E. Ann’s books. She is my favorite author.
I’ve read a couple of hers, but not these two.
Love your take on this! And you sure picked some perfect books for it!!
Thanks so much!
