"I would love you forever, if I only had the chance..."

Kacey Dawson has always lived life on the edge--impulsively, sometimes recklessly. And now, as lead guitarist for a hot up-and-coming band, she is poised at the brink of fame and fortune. But she is torn between wanting to be a serious musician, and the demons that lure her down the glittering, but alcohol-soaked path of rock stardom. A wrecked concert in Las Vegas threatens to ruin her career entirely. She wakes up with the hangover from hell and no memory of the night before, or how she ended up on her limo driver’s couch...

Jonah Fletcher is running out of time. He knows his situation is hopeless, and he's vowed to make the most of the handful of months he has left to him. His plans include seeing the opening of his glass installation at a prestigious art gallery…they do not include falling in love with a wild, tempestuous rock musician who wound up passed out on his couch.

Jonah sees that Kacey is on a path to self-destruction. He lets her crash with him for a few days to dry out and get her head on straight. But neither of them expected the deep connection they felt, or how that connection could grow so fast from friendship into something more. Something deep and pure and life-changing…something as fragile as glass, that they both know will shatter in the end no matter how hard they try to hold on to it.

Full Tilt is a story about what it means to love with your whole heart, to sacrifice, to experience terrible grief and soaring joy. To live life with all its beauty, and all its pain, and in the end to be able to smile through tears and know you wouldn’t have changed a thing.

These tearjerkers are going to be the death of me! Full Tilt is an exceptional one, however, and I’m so glad I was willing let it wreck me because it has more to offer than just heartache.

Kacey is on the brink of stardom as the guitarist and songwriter for a popular rock band. Although her star is on the rise, her life is in a downward spiral of drunkenness, reckless partying, and one-night stands as she tries to drown out the wounds of her past. Jonah is a glass sculptor and part-time limo driver living a regimented, numbered, isolated, and colorless existence. Their unexpected meeting alters the paths of their lives as they help each other heal and learn to truly live.

Full Tilt is emotional for many reasons, but I didn’t struggle to get through it. This could easily have been one of those overwhelmingly depressing stories where each chapter becomes more and more of a burden to read. Instead, the relationship between Kacey and Jonah is so pure and joyful that it transcends any heartbreak. In fact, it’s a pleasure to read. I loved the dynamics between Jonah’s family members as well, especially the relationship between Jonah and his brother Theo, the tattoo artist.

Full Tilt is a gorgeous and tender love story. I freely admit my aching, hopeful heart had me reaching for  Kleenex, but it hurt so good that I welcomed the tears of pain and happiness.

There is no cliffhanger; however, the story continues in All In. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on it and learning more about Theo.

About Emma Scott

author Emma Scott

Emma Scott writes romances with flawed characters, characters with artistic hearts: builders, poets, and writers of various makes and models. Emma loves to write book lovers; those who have found refuge, companionship, and escape in books, much as we all do in real life. She digs realism, honesty, authenticity in storytelling. She also loves to write about enduring love, soul-deep love, in as real a setting as possible, but with big smooshy HEAs. Emma believes in diversity, open-mindedness, and inclusion. She adores sweetness mixed with steam, love conquering all, and above all, hope. Love always wins.
