Many, many years ago, when I was but a wee lass… Where the hell did the Irish come from? I have no idea. And it was actually only three years ago, but it seems like a lifetime ago that I found a pot of gold in the form of a YA book titled Attraction by a new-to-me author, Penny Reid. Attraction is book one in the Laws of Chemistry trilogy. (Read review)
I love a good mystery, and by good I mean one that truly makes me think. I’m one of those smarty-pants readers who frequently figures out the secret long before it’s divulged. I pride myself on seeing plot twists coming a mile away. I start a mystery by throwing down the gauntlet to the author: okay, surprise me. E. Lockhart picked up my challenge. We Were Liars tested my intellect, kept me guessing, and had me on the edge of my seat until the very end.
Roomies by Christina Lauren is headed to the big screen! I loved this marriage of convenience story about a talented subway musician with dreams of Broadway. One major obstacle? He’s an illegal immigrant from Ireland facing deportation. Read review here. The authors are writing the movie adaptation, so here’s hoping it will be true to the book.
April’s Ultimate Reading Challenge 2018: Single Word Title Nobody does dark and dirty quite like Pam Godwin. Knotted is the first book in the Trails of Sin series, and if you like mysteries and sultry second chance romance, this book has you covered.
I hope you’ve been enjoying 2018’s Ultimate Reading Challenge! For May, you need to pick a book set in a place you’d like to visit. I’m thinking maybe wine country, Ireland, Hawaii… decisions, decisions. Where would you go if you had your choice? Do you have any book recommendations for me?
Full disclosure: Captor/prisoner stories historically aren’t my thing. The fact that Ruthless King is book one in a trilogy gave me pause. Ultimately, I decided to give it a go (obviously), but I’m still not sure what to think about Meghan March’s foray into dark romance territory.
Everyone told me Follow Me Back was a gut-wrenching tearjerker, but it just didn’t move me the way it evidently did others. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy it, because I did.
It’s been ages since I’ve read a true paranormal novel. I’ve been in a bit of a reading rut, so it was the perfect time to shake things up a bit. When I read the synopsis for Blood Type I knew I couldn’t pass it up. It’s a paranormal romantic suspense, and while vampire stories are nothing new, the premise behind vampires and humans co-existing is really creative.
We are thrilled to bring you the cover for REBEL HEART the second book in the Rush Series Duet by New York Times bestsellers Penelope Ward & Vi Keeland, releasing on May 22nd!
After reading Loving the White Liar, Kate Stewart quickly became an auto-buy author or me. I have described her books to others as emotional, angst filled, sultry, sweet, or funny. With The Real, she flexes her formidable writing muscles to produce a love story that embodies all these traits.
Book duets can be a risky business. Expectations are high when the first book is well received. Transcend was easily a 5-star read for me, so Epoch had huge shoes to fill. Jewel E. Ann makes it look easy because Epoch stole my breath time and again. I put my real life on pause while I indulged in every single absorbing page. Eating is so overrated anyway.
