Lovers Like Us is the second book in the Like Us series. There are even more characters involved this time around, but I think I finally have a good handle on who’s who. There are more conflicts and added suspense, including family drama, tabloid scandals, and a crazy stalker on the loose.
I just fell in love with a bisexual god named Maximoff Hale, a rich philanthropist who excels at everything. The man is fiercely devoted to and protective of every single member of his enormous family. Selflessly, Maximoff only indulges in one night stands, refusing to subject lovers to the public scrutiny a more serious romantic relationship with him would cause. He’s the perfect specimen. His hot tatted and pierced bodyguard, Farrow, is no slouch either.
Dear Carter, My friends have been utterly captivated by your friends-to-lovers story so please believe me when I tell you that it’s not you, it’s me. I think you are the perfect book boyfriend, but your girlfriend, Arizona, is truly irritating. For someone who’s 24, she seems rather immature. I don’t know how you put up with her silly little lies. Rather than tell you she doesn’t want to see you she tells you she’s meeting a new friend – Betty Crocker. Really? I know you chuckle, but do you really find it endearing?
What a fun start to what I predict will be a winning series. I fell in love with Briar University and their hockey team in the Off-Campus series. Most of the players have graduated, so now is the perfect time for a fresh start with the new Briar U series.
I love L.J. Shen’s writing, but I’m afraid this The End Zone missed the mark for me. Let me start by saying that I don’t have the same expectations for novellas as I do for full-length novels. It’s extremely difficult to convey a well-rounded storyline with fully developed characters in under 150 pages.
Whitney G.’s books always put me in a good mood. Her trademark seems to be sexiness combined with a healthy amount comedy. I was looking for a quick fun story, and On a Tuesday fit the bill.
I continue to be amazed by the creative capacity of Jewel E. Ann. Her books refuse to be contained in tidy, predictable boxes. Transcend is aptly named because it surpasses all expectations in terms of originality, intricacy, mystery, and poignancy.
March’s Ultimate Reading Challenge 2018: New-To-You Author The #UlimateReadingChallenge for March was to read a book by a new-to-you author. I chose Jennifer L. Armentrout and Wait for You. No, I’ve never read one of her books before. I know; I know. I can hear your gasps from here. At least I’m part of the “in” group now, right?
With In Harmony, Emma Scott delivers a captivating romance that pays tribute to the power the human spirit. The story is quite timely in an age when victims of sexual and domestic abuse are very much front and center in the nation’s consciousness.
This has been such an enjoyable series! Who knew that I could fall in love with such crude, mean jocks? How to Date a Douchebag: The Coaching Hours is by far the least douchey of all the books. In fact, it’s a really sweet end to the series.
Ten Tiny Breaths is a beautifully written story about loss, love and forgiveness.
Broadway, Hollywood, and a second a chance at romance. I’m a proud member of the Theatre Geek Society, so normally I’d be all over this story, but (you knew there was a but coming) there was one problem. Wicket Heart is the third book in the Starcrossed series. I already read the first book, Bad Romeo. You know how in some book reviews the reviewer says they didn’t love it, didn’t hate it? Well, suffice it to say that I pretty much hated Bad Romeo. I finished it, but then decided to wash my hands of the follow-up. When I heard there was a third book, I really didn’t give it a second thought. Some friends convinced me to give it a try, though, and you know what? It’s awesome.
