I had high expectations for The Duchess Deal, and while it is definitely entertaining, I didn’t love it the way I expected. Perhaps I would have enjoyed it more had I not recently read a truly excellent historical romance with a marriage of convenience theme. I don’t know, but 3.5 stars is still pretty darned good.
Fight or Flight is the first book I’ve read by Samantha Young, and based on the fact that I couldn’t put it down, I’d say I chose a good one to start with.
Dear Carter, My friends have been utterly captivated by your friends-to-lovers story so please believe me when I tell you that it’s not you, it’s me. I think you are the perfect book boyfriend, but your girlfriend, Arizona, is truly irritating. For someone who’s 24, she seems rather immature. I don’t know how you put up with her silly little lies. Rather than tell you she doesn’t want to see you she tells you she’s meeting a new friend – Betty Crocker. Really? I know you chuckle, but do you really find it endearing?
Once Upon a Sure Thing is a friends-to-lovers story that is low on drama and high on humor—just how I like it. Lauren Blakely continues to impress with this series about three brothers who used to be members of a famous teen boy band. Single parenthood is integral to each brother’s story, and these sexy former pop stars are blessedly allergic to one-night stands.
I chose to read Devil in Winter as part of the Ultimate Reading Challenge for September 2018 which is to read a book outside your comfort zone. Historical romances are definitely something I avoid, but I bit the bullet and dove in.
I just finished Managed and I swear I want to start over and read it again. It exceeded my expectations on every level. With a clever story, witty dialog, and winsome characters, I had a perma-smile on my face the entire time I was reading. I have the stretch marks on my cheeks as proof.
Once again L.J. Shen has made me fall in love with an anti-hero. Yes, Bane is a liar, a con, a thief, a bully, and a whore. Guess what? I fell for him anyway.
Brace yourself. If you think Block Shot is your run of the mill enemies to lovers romance, think again. This book is simply more: more complicated, more impassioned, and more believable.
Color me impressed! Alexa Martin scores a touchdown in her debut novel, Intercepted, an entertaining sports romance centered around a fierce heroine.
Lauren Blakely has a knack for blending naughty and nice. She serves up a healthy dose of both in Once Upon a Real Good Time, and I must say the combination goes down nice and smooth.
Smile, happy sigh, heart tug, repeat. Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating filled me with undiluted joy from beginning to end. The main source of all the warm fuzzies are the two main characters.
